Mad Hops, ltd To Advertise in SLAM Magazine

COLUMBUS, Ohio, October 12, 2001 Mad Hops, ltd., President/CEO,
H.L. Baldwin, Jr. announced that his company would begin its first, of perhaps many, advertisements in SLAM Magazine. The advertisement
will be in SLAM's NBA Preview edition that will be on newsstands by October 31, 2001.

SLAM is the #1 selling sports publication on the newsstands in America. It has a readership of over 2.1 million readers per issue with a circulation of 225,000. Mad Hops, ltd. views SLAM Magazine as the perfect vehicle to promote its training program along with its growing line of basketball apparel and equipment. Baldwin believes SLAM readers are passionate about not only basketball but also all sports and the culture surrounding the games. "SLAM 'keeps it real' with every story it produces and with every athlete it interviews." Baldwin said. "You get the real story behind the glitz and glamour."

Baldwin also views the SLAM reader as belonging to the very demographic his company aspires
to reach. That particular demographic Baldwin refers to is the active 12 – 28 year old predominately male sport fan. This group is always looking for the newest and coolest gear to bring them closer to "their" sport – which in Baldwin's case & SLAM's is basketball.

SLAM Magazine and Mad Hops, ltd. have been flirting with the idea of working together for over a year. Baldwin was contacted by SLAM's representatives after they happened upon the Mad Hops website (www.MADHOPS.com ) near the beginning of Spring 2000. "They absolutely loved the site!" Baldwin exclaimed. "I received an e-mail from the Associate Editor who was really interested in the company and what it was about. At the time, I really didn't know what to think about the possibility of placing an ad in the magazine. I thought someone was joking around with me" It is in SLAM 's readership that Baldwin hopes to impress and learn a great deal from. He definitely believes that an advertisement in SLAM Magazine would garner his company the type of recognition and validity it seeks. " I think a relationship with SLAM Magazine will be a perfect fit." Baldwin states. "Besides, you can't 'SLAM' dunk unless you've got 'Mad Hops'!"
